Iran’s Documentary Premiered at Moscow’s DOKer
TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Iranian feature documentary ‘Isatis’ is set to be screened at the 10th Moscow International Documentary Film Festival DOKer.
Directed by Alireza Dehqan, the 75-minute film will have its international premiere as the closing film of the Russian festival.
The poster of the film, illustrated by Mojtaba Mousavi, was unveiled concurrent with the film’s first international screening at the DOKer.
“Story of the hands of the people who turned soil into elixir and reached from nonexistence to existence. An old story of the true value of water, of novel thoughts to drive water. Story of a town with all its vicissitudes that has been shining like agate on the heart of the dry and barren soil of the desert. Story of the kind dialogue between religions and the scent of faith,” comes as the synopsis of the film in media.
Dehqan’s film was previously nominated for the Best Documentary Film Award at the Fajr Film Festival in Iran.
The film is also the winner of the Special Prize at Iran’s International Documentary Film Festival known as Cinema Vérité.
The 10th Moscow International Documentary Film Festival DOKer screens independent non-fiction films.
DOKer is aimed at “analyzing and screening various genres and forms of the world’s documentaries as a separate line of cinema in all its esthetic and socio-cultural diversity,” writes the online submission platform of the event.
The 2022 DOKer is slated to be held in Moscow from August 15 to 24.
