Isfahan’s Cultural Gem on UNESCO List
TEHRAN (IFILM) -- UNESCO Memory of the World is to register Abbasi Hotel in Iran’s central province of Isfahan as a cultural gem and a large permanent exhibition of Persian art.
Hojatollah Ayyoubi, the Secretary General of the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO, made the statement in a Saturday meeting with Iran Insurance Company, Saba Holding.
Ayyoubi expressed hope that UNESCO is not political as it proved that the scientific, educational and cultural credibility of Iran cannot be removed from international organizations and that Iran is highly influential in various fields of education, culture and cultural heritage.
Isfahan-based Saba Holding is active in the field of tourism and hotel management, acquiring the 300-year-old Abbasi Hotel since 1961.
Abbasi Hotel is one of the biggest global attractions in the Middle East. Today, this beautiful hotel is a popular destination for those visiting the city of turquoise domes.
