Turkish Troops Ought to be On Golan Heights, Not on Wrong Side of Syrian Border

Syria and Turkey share a 909 km long border and though this border came into effect in 1920 following the disintegration of the Ottoman Empire, the Syrian and Turkish Muslim peoples in view of their millennia-old religious, cultural, political, and commercial ties, ought to regard it as a border of peace and stability, rather than a frontier of undue confrontation.
Terrorism is indeed the bane of the modern world, with the roots of the terrorists lying outside the Muslim world, in the corridors of power in West Europe, North America, and their illegal base in West Asia, that is, the illegitimate Zionist entity, which means Turkey, Syria, and other regional countries, instead of blaming one another without any proof, should get together to focus on the roots of terrorism.
In other words, Ankara ought not to threaten Damascus with military invasion across the common border on the pretext of fighting terrorist groups, but should join forces with Syrian troops on the Golan Heights to liberate Palestine from the real terrorists.
This was the gist of the advice of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution to the visiting Turkish President in Tehran on Tuesday.
Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei who granted audience to Rajab Tayyeb Erdoghan said: “Any military action in northern Syria will definitely harm Turkey, Syria and the entire region and will instead benefit terrorists.
Calling Syria’s territorial integrity as “very important”, he stated that fighting terrorism is a must and “we (Iran) will definitely cooperate with you in the battle against terror, but terrorists are not limited to a specific group.”
The Leader added that Iran regards security in Turkey and its border areas as its own and advised Turkey to pursue a similar approach vis-à-vis its southern neighbour Syria, pointing out that the main impediments to peace among regional states is usurper Israel and its occupation of Palestine, coupled with the terrorist-backing US forces which have occupied the oil regions of Syria.
Erdoghan agreed that terrorist groups in Syria are supported by the Western regimes, including Germany, Britain and particularly the US, which are providing them with weapons.
These remarks by the Turkish president who is in Tehran for the three-nation meeting with host, President Hojjat al-Islam Seyyed Ibrahim Raisi, and Russia’s President Vladimir Putin on resolving the crisis in Syria, should augur well for efforts for peace and stability in Levant, especially in view of the fact that he was briefed on the facts that neither the Zionist regime nor the US can stop the struggle of the Palestinian people.
The gist of the message is that Muslim countries should overcome the petty differences to build a solid bloc, rather than misplacing their trust in the US, while it is nothing but treason against Islam and Muslims to have relations with the illegal Zionist entity, which will not be able to defer for long the triumph of the Palestinian movement.
