Tehran, Beijing Collaborate in Cinematic Field

TEHRAN (IRNA) – China’s cultural attaché in Iran said that his country was interested in cooperation with Iranian cinema and filmmakers.
Cultural Attaché of the Chinese Embassy in Iran Zhozy Haw attended in a Soureh Cinema Organization in Tehran on Monday and was briefed on the organization’s activities and capacities.
Hamidreza Jafarian, the president of Soureh, told the Chinese diplomat that the organization was prepared for cinematic cooperation with China, as there could be found many common themes and stories due to cultural commonalities between Iran and China.
Zhozy welcomed the offer, saying that such a cooperation could serve better introduction of Iranian and Chinese cultures to the people of these countries.
He highlighted the memorandum of understanding between Iran and China for production of movies and documentaries and said that the 25-year cooperation document signed between Iran and China in 2020 could also serve as a proper framework in this regard.
The Chinese diplomat also suggested that Iran and China could cooperate on animated movies, particularly that the Chinese government supports this genre.
