CEO: Bitumen Production Fully Localized in Iran
TEHRAN -- The CEO of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) Jalil Salari has said the knowledge of bitumen production in the country has been localized 100% and the status of this industry has been upgraded from the national level to the international level.
Addressing the first conference to celebrate Iran Bitumen Industry Day, Salari said Iran’s crude oil base is of very good quality in terms of bitumen production and this industry can have a special place in the regional and East Asian markets.
Emphasizing the necessity of a regulatory body and system in this sector, he added: “The development of this industry has been achieved in the situation that in the past, cracked fuel oil was used more often in bitumen production, and we faced challenges in the quality of bitumen.”
The Deputy Minister of Petroleum for Refining and Distribution Affairs noted: “Fortunately, today, good achievements have been achieved in obtaining the technical knowhow of this industry, and this knowledge is 100% localized in the country, which is a source of pride for the country’s industry.”
