UN: 8.79mn Crossed Ukraine Border Since Feb. 24
BERLIN (Reuters) -- More than 8.79 million people have crossed the border from Ukraine since Russia’s invasion in late February, the UN refugee agency said on Wednesday.
On its website, the agency said 8.793 million people had made the crossing since Feb. 24. Ukrainian officials on Wednesday called on civilians to urgently evacuate Sloviansk as Russian troops step up their bombardment of the city in their push to conquer the Donbas region of Donetsk.
