U.S. Obstructs Participation of Iranian Archers in World Contests
TEHRAN – Archery Federation of Iran has announced that the Iranian archers could not fly to the United States to attend the World Games as the U.S. did not issue visas for the team members.
World Archery Federation had allocated two quota spots, which cannot be reallocated, to two Iranian archers: Gisa Bybordi and Ramezan Biabani.
Although the team members attended the U.S. Embassy in Armenia and awaited the issuance of visas, they could not depart for the U.S. to attend the World Games slated for July 8 because of the host country’s obstruction.
This is the second time that this obstacle has been created by the US for the Iranian archers.
Last year, the U.S. did not grant a visa to the head of Iran’s federation to take part in the World Archery Congress.
