Egypt Offers Sympathy to Iran Over Earthquake
TEHRAN – The spokesman for Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday expressed sympathy toward Iranians over the earthquake that hit Iran’s southern Hormozgan Province last week.
“We express our sincere condolences and sympathy to the victims of the earthquake that struck Hormozgan Province in southern Iran, which resulted in a number of deaths and injuries among the citizens there,” Ahmed Hafez wrote in tweet in Arabic.
The spokesman also wished “a speedy recovery to all the injured.”
Hormozgan Province was hit by a series of relatively-strong and strong earthquakes in 24 hours last week, three of which were over 6 in magnitude.
The earthquake swarm whose aftershocks still continue to occur left 5 deaths and over 100 injuries.
