3 Iranians Among Best in Asian Taekwondo Championships

TEHRAN – The organizing committee of the 25th Asian Taekwondo Championships has announced that three Iranians, including two athletes and one head coach, are among the best in the Asian Taekwondo Championships.
The Iranian women’s team in Taekwondo won the championship for the first time with a brilliant performance at the 25th Asian Taekwondo Championships.
The gold medalists were Zahra Pouresmaeil, Akram Khodabandeh, and Nahid Kiyani.
Akram Khodabandeh was selected as the best taekwondo player in Asia and Nahid Kiyani was selected as the best technical player in the competitions.
Bijan Moghanloo, head coach of Iran’s men’s taekwondo national team, along with coaches from Uzbekistan and South Korea, was selected as the best coach in Asia.
Iran’s women’s team won six medals, including three gold, two silver, and one bronze, in this tournament.
China ranked second with one bronze, two silver, and two gold medals.
South Korea finished third with two gold, one silver, and one bronze medals, and Jordan ranked fourth with one gold and one bronze medals.
The 25th Asian Taekwondo Championships kicked off in Hoban Gym in Chuncheon, northeast Korea, on June 23 for four days with the participation of 299 athletes from 34 countries.
