IME Weekly Trade Tops $640 Million
TEHRAN – Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) on Saturday reported that over 2,306,805 tonnes of commodities with a total trading value of $640 million were traded on its domestic and exporting markets.
The report said, over 2,121,000 tonnes of metals and minerals commodities including 1,457,000 tonnes of cement, 352,687 tonnes of steel, 291,000 tonnes of iron ore, 18,500 tonnes of sponge iron, 930 tonnes of zinc, 7,600 tonnes of aluminum, 6,501 tonnes of copper, 150 tonnes of molybdenum concentrate, 30 tonnes of precious metals concentrate and 4 kg of gold bars with total value of $356 million were traded in the IME’s trading halls.
It also added that, over 166,849 tonnes of oil and petrochemical commodities including, 87,750 tonnes of polymeric products, 4,000 tonnes of vacuum bottom, 1,000 tonnes of lube cut, 36,863 tonnes of chemicals, 600 tonnes of sulfur, 3,247 tonnes of base oil, 110 tonnes of feed gas, 33,207 tonnes of bitumen and 575 tonnes of insulation with total value of $153 million were traded in the IME’s markets.
Based on this report, on the IME’s agricultural trading floor, customers purchased 2 tonnes of saffron.
The IME also traded within the same week 18,712 tonnes of commodities on its side market.
