Iran Tells UAE: Zionist Regime Cause of Insecurity
TEHRAN -- Iran’s Foreign
Minister Hussein Amir-Abdollahian says the occupying regime of Israel is the main cause of instability and insecurity in the entire West Asia region.
Amir-Abdollahian made the remarks in an early Sunday phone call with his Emirati counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, during which the two sides discussed bilateral, regional and international issues.
Iran’s top diplomat said “the presence of the Al-Quds occupying regime is the cause of instability and insecurity as well as terrorism and sabotage in the entire region”.
Amir-Abdollahian said Iran seeks security and progress for its neighbors and the region but views the presence of foreigners as an impediment to the establishment of regional security.
He added that Iran’s foreign policy gives priority to its neighbors, stressing the need to further boost cooperation and expand relations between Iran and the United Arab Emirates.
The Emirati minister, for his part, said his country will not allow destructive measures to be taken from its territory against neighboring countries.
The two sides also stressed the necessity of increasing contacts and consultations between the two countries.
The two foreign ministers had another phone call in early April, during which Amir-Abdollahian, once again, said the Zionist regime is the root cause of insecurity in the region, warning regional countries that the presence of the Tel Aviv regime poses a threat to all.
“Efforts should be made to prevent those who create crisis from gaining a foothold in the region,” Amir-Abdollahian told his Emirati counterpart.
He also expressed Iran’s good intention and push for security and progress of its neighboring states in the region, including the UAE, and emphasized, “The Zionists have been and are the root cause of insecurity in the region.”
Also in April, Iran’s President Ebrahim Raeisi said the Islamic Republic is closely monitoring the occupying regime of Israel’s regional activities and will not allow the regime to threaten security of the region via any country.
