Much Applauded Documentary Wins Big in Zurich
TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Iranian documentary ‘The Doll’ has won an award at the Iranian Film Festival of Zurich (IFFZ) in Switzerland.
Directed by Elaheh Esmaeeli, the film grabbed the main award at the Short Films Section of the event.
The 33-minute documentary shows how the whole family members of a young girl can have parts in her future and fate. She is only 14 when the family is making a decision about marrying her off.
The short doc has already toured various global events, including the Atlanta Film Festival in the U.S., the International Film Festival of Huesca in Spain, and the kortfilmfestivalen in Norway.
Rezvan Beheshtian, Sahar Abdollahi, Mohammad-Javad Asadi, and Nabiollah Minaee are the main cast members of the flick.
The 8th edition of the IFFZ kicked off on May 26 and ran until June 1.
