Shiraz Holds Ten-Day Commemoration For Shah Cheragh
TEHRAN (IP) - June 6 every year coincides with the commemoration of Hazrat Ahmad Ibn Musa (Shah Cheragh) (AS), the son of Imam Musa Kazem (AS).
Ahmad Ibn Musa Shahcheragh (AS) is Imam Reza’s brother, the eighth Imam of the Shias, and son of Imam Musa Kazem (AS), the seventh Imam. His Holy Shrine is located in Shiraz, the capital of Fars province, southern Iran.
Shah Cheragh commemoration day coincides with Ten Days of Dignity
The 10 Days of Dignity is the first ten days of the month of Dhuʻl-Qiʻdah, which begins at the same time with the birth of Hazrat Masoumeh (S) on the 1st of Dhuʻl-Qiʻdah and ends with the birth of her brother Imam Reza (AS) on the 11th of Dhuʻl-Qiʻdah. In the 10 Days of Dignity, celebrations are held in Iran, and in the calendar of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the first day of Dhuʻl-Qiʻdah marked as Girl’s Day, 5th Dhuʻl-Qiʻdah is the day of honoring the children of Imams and holy shrines, 6th Dhuʻl-Qiʻdah commemorating Ahmad Ibn Musa Ibn Jafar known as Shahcheragh and 9th Dhuʻl-Qiʻdah is Day of Chastity and Hijab.
Various programs are held at the shrine of Shah Cheragh. The drumming ceremony is one of these ceremonies.
Shah Cheragh, or Holy Shrine of Ahmad Ibn Musa (AS), is an important religious place in Shiraz for tourists.
Tourists and pilgrims from Arab countries also travel there every year.
