Poland, Iran Sign Cultural Agreement

TEHRAN -- An agreement on cultural, sports, scientific, youth and mass media cooperation was signed between Iran and Poland in Tehran on Monday.
After the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, the socialist government of Poland was one of the first countries to recognize the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In recent decades, relations between the two countries have improved through consultations and political cooperation with exchange of delegations, members of parliament, ministers and deputy ministers.
Cooperation between Iran and Poland continues through political, economic and cultural consultations at the level of ministers, economic and cultural delegations, and in particular representatives of the ministries of foreign affairs of the two countries.
Supporting the participation of artists and art groups in international competitions and festivals in both countries, exchanging experiences between artists and cultural experts through workshops and internships, translating and publishing to promote the literary works of authors from both countries, especially contemporary literary works, holding exhibitions, concerts, theater performances and other artistic events and joint productions in the field of film are other areas of cooperation between Iran and Poland.
Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau arrived in Tehran on Saturday evening at the head of a delegation to meet with officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The senior Polish diplomat met with Foreign Minister Hussein Amir-Abdollahian and speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly Muhammad Baqer Qalibaf.
