Zionists Demolish More Palestinian Homes
WEST BANK (Dispatches) – The Zionist regime’s army demolished on Monday four Palestinian homes in the northern West Bank, under the pretext that they were built without a permit. Applications from Palestinians for building permits are rarely approved by the occupation state.
Two of the houses were in the village of Beit Dajan, east of Nablus. According to the head of the local council, Tawfiq al-Hajj Muhammad, Zionist troops entered the village early this morning, reported Anadolu.
“The two houses started to be built about a year and a half ago, and they were in the final stages of construction,” he explained. “Each one had two floors with a total area of around 400 square meters.”
According to the Israeli authorities, the demolition was justified because no permit was approved, and they are in a “firing zone”. In other words, the land is being confiscated, supposedly for military training purposes. This is often a ruse by the Zionists to clear land prior to illegal settlers moving in.
When local residents protested about the demolitions, Zionist troops fired tear gas.
Meanwhile, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the Zionist regime’s plans to build thousands of illegal housing units in the occupied West Bank and demolish Palestinian villages.
In a statement the OIC condemned “Israel, the occupying power’s, plan to build 4,000 new settlement units on occupied Palestinian land and to evacuate and demolish 12 Palestinian villages in the Yatta area, south of Khalil Province”.
It also noted that the Zionist “colonial settlement policy represented a blatant aggression against Palestinians’ rights and a flagrant violation of international law and UN resolutions.”
Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry also warned against the repercussions of Zionist plans to expand settlements in the occupied West Bank, urging the United Nations to take deterrent measures against the Tel Aviv regime.
In a statement, Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry condemned the occupying regime’s plans as a “flagrant violation of international law and resolutions of international legitimacy,” invoking the UN Security Council Resolution 2334.
The ministry also warned against Zionist plans to destroy 12 Palestinian villages in the West Bank.
According to the ministry, the regime’s actions undermine the global efforts aimed at finding a solution to the Zionist-Palestinian conflict.
Kuwait also called on the UN Security Council to “shoulder its responsibilities” and to compel the occupying regime to stop its settlement expansion.
