Tehran Book Fair to Display 30,000 Titles From 27 Countries
TEHRAN -- The 33rd Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF) which is scheduled for March 11 to 21 in the Mosalla of Imam Khomeini in Tehran will display over 30,000 titles of books published in 27 countries.
Director of the Foreign Publishers Committee of Tehran International Book Fair Esmaeil Janalipour told IBNA that Qatar with a group of publishers will be the guest of honor at the event.
Referring to the attendance of foreign publishers in the international section, he said the United Kingdom, Australia, the Netherlands, the United States, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, India, Turkey, Italy, France, South Korea, Syria, Lebanon, Pakistan, Tunisia, Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Egypt, Serbia, Azerbaijan and Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Mexico and Bosnia are countries which will showcase their books at the exhibition.
The book fair will be held in both physical presence and virtual for the first time in two years.
Earlier, due to the outbreak of COVID-19, two editions of Tehran Virtual Book Fair were held for the first time in Iran to meet the demands of Iranian publishers, authors, translators, book activists and of course people. The virtual event was born out of TIBF.
As the top Iranian book event, TIBF has millions of visitors every year, including thousands of university students, scholars, and their families. A huge number of national visitors along with international exhibitors from different countries make this event one of the unique cultural events.
The International section of TIBF is an appropriate forum for those who have sold the rights of their books to international publishers or intend to do so; those Iranian publishers who have published books in foreign languages for international markets as well as those Iranian publishers and literary agencies interested in purchasing the rights of foreign books for publishing them in Persian in Iran.
