Wild Duck Joins Line-Up of Texas Film Festival

TEHRAN -- Iranian 15-minute social drama ‘The Wild Duck’ has entered the official competition lineup of the 12th Films for the Forest Festival in Texas, the U.S.
‘The Wild Duck’ by Ghazaleh Tolou Husseini (Ghazal Husseini) will make its 4th international screening at the 2022 Films for the Forest which is an international short film festival dealing with environmental issues.
The flick is the story of illegal hunting of the wild ducks in Miankaleh (one of the northern cities of Iran) that leads to a serious confrontation between three characters.
‘The Wild Duck’ was previously screened at the Emerging artists film festival in Canada, the First-Time Filmmaker Online Sessions and the Sessions by Lift-Off Global Network, both in the UK.
Some of the new names starring in the film are Amir-Ali Qolipour, Amir Esmaeel Zadeh, Jahangir Husseini, and the director herself.
“A semantic combination of nature, animal, bird and human in the form of a social narrative can have descriptive and effects on the mind of today’s intelligent audience, which is tired of repetition. Therefore, the screenplay (The Wild Duck) intends to explain the direct relationship of the psycho-social in its confrontation with the environment,” reads as the director’s brief note on the film.
The Films for the Forest promote films that engage audiences and inspire solutions to the challenges facing forests and their communities today. Films may explore any aspect of forests and rainforests.
The upcoming edition of the event will announce the winners’ list on June 22, 2022.
