Virginia Short Film Festival Honors The Statue
TEHRAN -- Iranian animated short flick ‘The Statue’ has been honored at the West Virginia Mountaineer Short Film Festival (WVM SFF) in the U.S.
The 12th edition of the American film fest bestowed its best animation award upon the short flick directed by Mohsen Salehifard.
‘The Statue’ is about a sculptor who has difficulty in making his statues.
The short has already been screened at a number of global events, including the Corti a Ponte Film Festival in Italy, the Khamrubu International Film Festival in India and the Gbeck Future Film Festival in Canada.
It has also succeeded to take home some awards, such as the Best Animated Short at the Snowtown Film Festival in the U.S. and the grand prix at the International Children and Youth Animation Film Festival in Croatia.
The WVM SFF “is an international, competitive film screening showing selected works from around the world, along with short films created by WVU students and regional filmmakers”, according to the official website of the event.
This year’s edition of the fest was held on April 22-23.
