Imam Reza Shrine to Distribute 1.5 Million Iftar Meals
TEHRAN – The Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine has embarked on distributing one and a half million Iftar meals in northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad in cooperation with donors and benefactors during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
Deputy Office for Human Resources Management of Imam Reza holy shrine has taken the initiative to distribute 40,000 Iftar packages among the pilgrims performing evening prayers on a daily basis.
Charitable figures have also joined forces to distribute 5,000 Iftar packages at four stations around the holy shrine each night. Other areas of the city will also receive 2,000 food portions daily under the aegis of the holy shrine during the fasting month of Ramadan.
Preparing and distributing Iftar meals is a longstanding tradition in the holy shrine undertaken annually with people’s charity.
