Have a Taste of Bushehr With Yatimak
TEHRAN -- Being highly nutritional, Iranian Yatimak is a dish to try for the holy month of Ramadan.
Yatimak is one of the local foods of Bushehr province, which has a high nutritional and dietary value due to the presence of ingredients such as beans, Iran Press reproted.
Another ingredient that is part of the food culture in Bushehr and the south of the country is tamarind, which is one of the main ingredients of Yatimak and together with eggplant gives it a very delicious taste.
This dish is spicy like most dishes in southern Iran.
Ingredients:
eggplant, beans, onions, tamarind and oil
Recipe:
First, cook the beans that have been soaked for about 24 hours, then fry the finely chopped onion. Add the peeled, chopped and fried eggplants along with salt, pepper, and turmeric as desired. Then add a glass of warm water to the ingredients and heat for half an hour to soften the eggplants. Now it is time to add the beans over the eggplants and tamarind. Do not forget that Yatimak should be spicy but during the holy month of Ramadan, it is optional to make the food too much spicy. When the tamarind has been absorbed in the ingredients, garnish it with fresh vegetables and serve it with fresh bread.
