Lebanon Bans Export of Food to Combat Food Shortage

BEIRUT (Xinhua) – Lebanon has banned the export of more than 20 food data-x-items manufactured in the country in light of the escalating food shortage exacerbated by the conflict in Ukraine, according to a statement by Lebanon’s Industry Ministry. Food data-x-items such as meat, processed vegetables and fruits, dairy goods, milled grain products, sugar, bread, coffee beans and tea are all prohibited from being exported, the statement reads. Producers can only export their products after obtaining a permit from the Industry Ministry, which must be signed exclusively by the industry minister.
