Hezbollah: Ukraine Victim of U.S. Policy

BEIRUT (Dispatches) – A high-ranking official with Lebanon’s resistance movement Hezbollah has blamed the United States for the current crisis in Ukraine, saying Kiev is a victim of Washington’s policy of spreading tensions in the world.
Ali Damoush, deputy chairman of Hezbollah’s Executive Council, said the U.S. is the one responsible for the crisis in Ukraine because it was Washington that planned and provoked the conflict.
“Ukraine has fallen victim to the United States’ policy of escalating tensions in the world. The lesson one can learn from the recent developments in Ukraine is that the United States’ support for its allies is just an illusion.”
The truth is that the Ukrainian president and the former president of Afghanistan trusted the U.S. and relied on its support, but both of them have admitted that the U.S. abandoned them, he added.
The Hezbollah official further rejected war, killing, occupation and destruction anywhere in the world, while accusing the West of “double standards” in dealing with global crises, which is condemning Ukraine’s war but has turned a blind eye to the U.S. and Saudi crimes in Yemen.

Yemen Urges UN to Stop Biased Treatment

Yemen’s parliament has urged the United Nations to pay “even a quarter” of the attention it has paid to Ukraine to the humanitarian crisis in Yemen devastated by a Saudi-led war.
According to Yemen’s al-Masirah television network, the presidium of the House of Representatives in Yemen held an extraordinary session to discuss the “catastrophic repercussions” of the Saudi seizure of Yemen-bound petroleum products.
The speaker of the House Yehia al-Ra’i said the Saudi-led coalition “seizes fuel ships in front of the whole world, nevertheless it tries to blame” the Sana’a government for the crisis of petroleum products in the impoverished country. He urged the UN to send a delegation to Yemen to observe the scale of the humanitarian catastrophe caused by the Saudi aggression and siege.
