A couple of days ago we celebrated the anniversary of the grand day of Mab’ath or Resurgence that ended Jahiliyya or the Age of Ignorance, Barbarism, Immorality, Injustice, Idiocy, and all sorts of vices in Arabia with the entrustment by God Almighty of the dynamic universal mission of Islam to His Last and Greatest Messenger, Prophet Muhammad (SAWA).

Jahiliyya, however, is not confined to an era of history or to a particular geographical place. It is in fact prevalent in all morally-loose societies, however scientifically advanced, that have veered away from spirituality, morals, ethical values, and principles of religions as expounded by the Prophets of God.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution in his annual address to the Iranian nation and the world on the Mab’ath anniversary pointed out that in today’s world the most glaring example of a Jahiliyya society is the mafia regime of the US, which as an intellectually bankrupt and morally corrupt clique has destroyed the dignity of mankind and is the cause of all crises around the world.

Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said: “This Jahiliyya that has been mentioned (in the Holy Qur’an) is not merely illiteracy and being unaware, but has a broader meaning. Having a vile temperament is part of this ignorance. The ignominious conduct of some people, such as murder, theft, rape, oppression and trampling on the weak, which were all common features of the people of pre-Islamic Arabia, are definitely parts of Jahiliyya, which also includes obscenity, sexual chaos, moral decadence and the eradication of modesty among people.”

He said many types of immorality, which were common among the ignorant pre-Islamic people, exist in a more organized, extreme fashion in today’s so-called civilized western world.

He stated: “The basis of life in western civilization is greed and avarice. The foundation for all western values rests on money at the present time. Morality, spirituality and everything else are measured with money. Governments’ common policies support discrimination and the enrichment of companies and cartels.”

A clear, complete example of modern Jahiliyya is the US he said, adding: “All sorts of mafias – including political, economic and weapon manufacturing – control that country. Behind the scenes, they bring individuals to power and eliminate others from the field. These mafias even bring presidents to power. This mafia regime has a need for various crises to be ongoing in different parts of the world. Therefore, it creates them.”

The unabated usurpation of Palestine by the non-Semitic East European converts to Judaism, infamous as the Zionists, is fully supported by the “idiocratic” regime of the US, which destroyed Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan, imposed economic terrorism on the Islamic Republic of Iran, ordered its agents, the Saudis and the Emiratis to indulge in crimes-against-humanity on a massive scale in Yemen for the past seven years, and has now trapped Ukraine and its peace-loving people in an unwanted war.

Could there be graver crimes than these by the neo-Jahiliyya regime of the US, which practices discrimination amongst the people it rules, encourages same-gender unnatural sexual relationship amongst them, and makes millions of its citizens homeless to sleep on sidewalks, spreads terror worldwide from Latin 

America to the corners of China, Asia, Africa, and Europe!

In short, the US is on a self-destructive course similar to the destroyed nations of the past, whose fate might sooner of later befall the Yankees.
