Zionist Troops Kill Three Palestinians in West Bank Raid
WEST BANK (Dispatches) – Zionist troops killed three Palestinians during a raid in the northern West Bank, Palestinian health authorities said Tuesday.
Palestinian security sources said that Zionist troops entered the Jenin refugee camp after midnight in vehicles carrying Palestinian license plates, according to Palestinian news agency Wafa.
The sources added the special units stormed several houses in the camp, occupied their roofs, and fired indiscriminately at anyone who moved.
Wafa identified two of the Palestinians as Abdullah al-Hosari, 22, and Shadi Khaled Najm, 18, who died from gunshot wounds to the head. Two more Palestinians were wounded and are in a critical condition.
Palestinian sources said fierce clashes broke out between the Zionist regime troops and Palestinians after the former stormed the refugee camp at around 01:00 am local time (23:00 GMT) and opened fire at several resistance fighters and civilians there.
Al-Hosari was a member of the Jenin Battalion of Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad resistance movement.
Zionist troops also raided the house of Jamal Abu al-Haija, a senior member of the Hamas resistance movement presently held in a Zionist jail, and arrested his son and former prisoner, Imad al-Din.
The Zionist regime frequently carries out wide-ranging arrest campaigns across the occupied West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians.
Several thousand Palestinians are reportedly held in the regime’s jails. Hundreds have been incarcerated under “administrative detention”, which allows holding Palestinian inmates in the regime prisons without trial or charges.
Meanwhile, Zionist troops attacked Palestinians who gathered at the Old City of Al-Quds to celebrate a Muslim holiday, injuring dozens of people including two children.
A six-month-old baby and a child with special healthcare needs were injured overnight, the latter after being struck in the face with a stun canister fired by Zionist troops.
The attack came as Palestinians gathered at Bab al-Amoud, also known as Damascus Gate, to celebrate the Muslim holiday of Isra and Mi’raj which marks the night Allah took Prophet Muhammad (Peace upon Him) on a journey from Mecca to Al-Quds and then to heaven.
Thousands of Palestinians observed the important occasion with worship at Al-Aqsa Mosque. It is almost one month before the start of the holy fast month of Ramadan.
The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas decried the attack on Palestinians.
Mohammed Hamada, a spokesman for Hamas in Al-Quds, described the attack on Palestinians at Bab al-Amoud as “a brutal crime” and a “dangerous” escalation, holding the Zionist regime leaders responsible for its repercussions.
“Our people will not stand idly by and will vigorously continue their intifada (uprising) against these brutal crimes, to protect Al-Quds and Al-Aqsa [Mosque],” he added.
