‘Termination of Zionist Regime Matter of Time’

Hezbollah Says Can Fight Simultaneously on Multiple Fronts

BEIRUT (Dispatches) – A high-ranking Hezbollah official says fighters with the Lebanese resistance movement are fully prepared to fight enemy forces on multiple fronts at the same time, and inflict defeats on them.
Sayyed Hashem Safieddine, head of the Executive Council of Hezbollah, said in a ceremony on Thursday that his group has long prepared itself to protect Lebanon in the face of a possible military confrontation.
He stressed that the resistance movement vigorously pursues the interests of the entire Lebanese nation in order to foster national unity.
The comments came a day after the secretary-general of the Lebanese resistance movement of Hezbollah called the Zionist regime a “temporary regime,” whose termination is only a matter of time.
“The Zionist regime is moribund,” Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said on Wednesday during an interview with Lebanon’s al-Manar television network.
The Hezbollah chief said he endorsed a campaign across the cyberspace that has proposed that the occupying regime be called a “temporary regime.”
Nasrallah also asserted that Hezbollah “was completely prepared for battle,” adding, “If the Israeli enemy happens to impose a war on Lebanon, it will [then] get to witness our bravery.”
Earlier this month, Hezbollah officials said that the Lebanese resistance group’s capabilities have shocked and humiliated the Zionist regime, stressing that the unmanned aerial vehicle that flew over occupied territories is merely a small fraction of those capabilities.
The president of the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc, which is the political wing of Hezbollah in the Lebanese parliament, said the resistance movement’s deterrent power has struck horror in the heart of the regime.
Mohammad Raad hailed the Hassan drone as one of Hezbollah’s outstanding military achievements which will prevent the regime from staging attacks against Lebanon.
Earlier this month, Safieddine said Hezbollah is sure to emerge victorious from any war, citing the group’s achievements, including its recent successful flying of a drone over the occupied territories.
Hezbollah is strong and is capable of winning any type of warfare, the senior Hezbollah official said.
Meanwhile, Lebanese President Michel Aoun denounced repeated violations of the Arab country’s sovereignty by the Zionist regime, calling on the United Nations to compel the Tel Aviv regime to implement Security Council Resolution 1701, which ended the 33-day Zionist military onslaught in 2006, and respect Lebanon’s territorial integrity.
During a meeting with the outgoing commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), Major General Stefano Del Col, on Thursday, Aoun stressed that the Beirut government “is committed to maintaining calm and stability in southern Lebanon and implementing Resolution 1701.”
He highlighted that the regime’s violations of Lebanon’s sovereignty are condemned by all strata of the Lebanese society, stating that the UN should exert pressure on the regime to stop such violations.
In another development, Lebanon’s security forces arrested a Lebanese man on charges of spying for the Zionist regime’s Mossad spy agency and collaboration with the regime’s authorities through gathering intelligence and involvement in targeted killing operations.
According to a report published by the Arabic-language al-Akhbar daily newspaper on Thursday, the man, whose identity was not immediately known and is said to be a resident of the southern city of Sidon, was detained by members of the General Security Directorate.
The man reportedly has no connection to the 17 Zionist spy networks recently busted in Lebanon in one of the largest nationwide crackdowns in recent years, and is apparently more formidable than those captured.
