Pakistan’s Deputy Speaker Meets Top Iranian Officials

TEHRAN -- Iranian Parliament speaker Muhammad Baqer Qalibaf and Pakistani Parliament deputy speaker Qasim Khan Suri here Wednesday underlined the need to further expand parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
During their meeting, the two sides explored avenues for bolstering and reinvigorating bilateral relations s.
“Relations between Tehran and Islamabad have been deep and close in political, cultural, economic and security fields over the past few years,” the Iranian parliament speaker said.
Qalibaf said Iran’s new administration attaches special significance to on bolstering political, economic, and cultural relations with the neighboring countries.
Suri said that Pakistan was the first country to recognize the Islamic Revolution in 1979 and has made great efforts to counter oppressive sanctions against Iran.
Last week, Iranian Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi visited Islamabad where he met top Pakistani officials including Prime Minister Imran Khan and underlined the need to broaden bilateral relations in different fields.
