TEHRAN – Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Muhammad Hussein Baqeri said on Sunday security prevails along the common border with Pakistan.
Speaking to reporters during a visit to the southeastern Sistan and Balouchestan province, he described it as the border of peace and friendship, noting that transportation and trade is underway in the area without any problem.
General Baqeri said the security situation in the border areas in the country’s southeastern region is good and getting better by the day.
There is also good security along the border with Afghanistan, he stated, adding that if there are minor issues, they will be resolved by the two countries’ border guards.
General Baqeri was accompanied by a number of senior commanders, including Army chief Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi and Ground Force chief Brigadier General Kiomars Heidari.
