TEHRAN – Shahaboddin Azizi
Khadem was temporarily removed from the presidency of the Islamic Republic of Iran Football Federation (IRIFF).
The decision was made by the IRIFF Board of Directors on Thursday.
Azizi Khadem had been elected as the president of the football federation in February last year.
Mehrdad Seraji, a member of the board of directors, was appointed as interim president of the IRIFF until an extraordinary assembly is held.
Azizi Khadem’s apparent differences with some members of the federation’s board of directors had reportedly damaged the cohesion of the federation.
