Iranian Exports to Iraq Increase 15%

TEHRAN - A member of the board of directors of the Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber has said in the first 10 months of this year, $7.280 billion worth of goods were exported to Iraq.
Hamid Husseini said for the first time, during that period, Iraq exported $920 million worth of goods to Iran, showing a 15 percent rise compared to last year.
According to the official, the imports from Iraq were done out of the frozen Iranian assets in the neighboring country.
He said that before this, Iraq’s exports to Iran were about $ 100 million a year, adding with this amount of imports by Iran, Iraq’s rank was raised from the twenty-sixth importer to the sixth place.
Huseini noted that importing goods from Iraq means that trade is not one-sided and Iraq also benefits from establishing trade relations with Iran, and this will help develop trade ties between the two countries.
He said the recent decrease in COVID cases and the increase in commodity prices have been conducive to the rise in exports, but there are still problems for exporting technical and engineering projects and participating in tenders in Iraq.
Husseini expressed hope Iran will be able to use the current possibilities to develop trade with Iraq.

Exports to Regional Countries Increased Dramatically

Earlier, the head of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) Alireza Peyman-Pak announced the growing trend of Iran’s export of products to the regional and Asian countries in the 13th government under President Raeisi.
Peyman-Pak said that the unprecedented export growth of the country to the countries including Russia, Turkey, Iraq and Southeast Asian countries increased in the current year since the new administration of President Raisi came to power in June.
While expounding on the salient programs of the 13th government, he pointed to holding specialized exhibitions and bilateral trade events with neighboring states as the main policies of the 13th government in the field of foreign trade.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the TPOI chief announced the inauguration of the largest stadium in Iraq constructed by expert Iranian engineers in the coming week.
Turning to the expansion of trade and economic ties with Syria, he said, “It is scheduled that Iran will get access lucrative market of North African countries via Syria.”
He further noted that Iran’s export of products to neighboring Turkey has become doubled which is solid evidence of Iran’s success in doing business with this country.
