Auspicious Days

Salaam dear young friends, and heartiest felicitations to you. Iran is basking in the blessings of the “Ten Days of Dignity” and there are celebrations everywhere.
For the information of our young readers, the “Dah-e Karamat” or Ten Days of Dignity spans the birth anniversaries of the blessed brother and sister, whose shrines are the two most sacred spots in Iran.
Yes, you are absolutely right. The first of Zi’l-Qa’dah was the birthday of our Innocent Lady of Qom, Hazrat Fatema al-Ma’soumah (SA), while the 11th of this month happens to be the birthday of Imam Reza (AS), the 8th Infallible Heir of Prophet Muhammad (SAWA), who shire is in Mashhad, Khorasan.
Imam Reza (AS) was born in 148 AH, while Ma’soumah (SA) was born in 173 AH, and the shrines of these two are filled with pilgrims, day and night, throughout the year, from all over the world.
Yes dear friends, celebrations and celebrating these auspicious days are good, but we should learn not to waste anything during these ceremonies.
Well friends, today is a very auspicious day for all of us, can you guess what is it?
Yes, you are correct. Today is the 3rd of Khordad, and we in Iran celebrate it as the National Day of Resistance.
This day is marked every year in the Islamic Republic with rejoicing and thanksgiving, since it is the anniversary of the memorable liberation of the once-thriving port city of Khorramshahr from Ba’thist occupation.
It is indeed a Red Letter Day for Iran, which proved to the world that what makes a nation triumphant is faith in God, devotion to Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) and the Infallible Imams of his Blessed Household, determination to continue the fight in the face of heavy odds, confidence in its capabilities, and trust in the Leadership of the Righteous.
That is why the Father of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (RA) expressed those famous words this day in 1982 “God liberated Khorramshahr” when informed of the humiliating retreat of the Ba’thist war machine across the Arvandroud despite receiving weaponry worth a hundred billion dollars from Persian Gulf Arab states in addition to military support from both the Capitalist West and the Communist East.
We all profoundly recall that the Sage of the Age, Imam Khomeini, who had called the 8-year war imposed by the US through Saddam, as a blessing-in-disguise for the Iranian nation, made it clear to the compromisers scheming to end the war without withdrawal of enemy forces from Iranian soil: “An imposed peace is worse than an imposed war.”
Thus, dear young friends, the Saga of Khorramshahr continues to inspire our committed personnel to this day, irrespective of the threats of Biden and Netanyahu, or their supposedly frightening arsenals, which are nothing compared to our faith and dedication.
Goodbye till we meet again next week.
