Iran’s 1500 Motifs of Needlework
TEHRAN -- Iran has more than 1500 kinds of needlework art, handicrafts expert Maryam Samak-Jalali says.
“The Iranian needlework can earn more than oil in revenues,” she said, adding the variety of needlework in Iran is unique and rare in the world.
Samak-Jalali said the international marketing of needlework can introduce this valuable artwork to the world.
Meanwhile, the 11th National Biennial of Iranian Painting held in Tehran on Saturday evening at the Art Academy of Saba’s Art Cultural Institute.
Organized by the Visual Arts Center of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in cooperation with the Contemporary Visual Arts Development Institute, universities and the art community, 221 works of 152 artists are on display at the event, based on this event.
