‘Plastic’ Wins Jury Award in Italy
TEHRAN -- Iranian short film ‘Plastic’ has been awarded at the 2nd edition of the Max3Min Jury Award in Italy.
The 100-second short film ‘Plastic’, directed by Asghar Besharati, received the best short film award from the 2022 Italian screening event.
‘Plastic’ is about the destructive and contaminative effects of plastic on the marine environment.
“Do you never ask yourself about our destructive effects in nature?” reads as a brief synopsis of the flick.
Besharati’s film was shortlisted as the top 10 films at the Max3Min fest which received films from more than 86 countries.
‘Plastic’ has already won top titles and awards at various international festivals, including the best short film award at the OFF Awards - Odense International Film Festival in Denmark.
Besharti started his artistic career in the field of photography in 2007 by capturing the pristine natural landscapes of Iran’s Qeshm Island; and has now become an ambassador to introduce Iran to the world.
He extended his work by photographing the wonders of the underwater world and then turned to filmmaking, the result of which has been the production of 12 short films.
The MAX3MIN is a short film festival that hosts films no longer than 3 minutes. The festival is born out of the sole intent of telling stories.
“Film stories condensed in a minimum time, stories about the time that runs fast, stories of feelings that do not need time,” writes the official website of the event.
The second edition of the MAX3MIN took place on March 11-22, 2022.
