Two Iranian Films Awarded at India’s Khamrubu

TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Iranian animation ‘The Statue’ has grabbed Critics Award at the second edition of the Khamrubu International Film Festival in India.
‘The Statue’, directed by Mohsen Salehi Fard, is about a sculptor who has difficulty with making his statues.
The animation had previously participated in several international film festivals, including the Chania Film Festival in Greece, the Gbeck Future Film Festival in Canada, and the Earl’s Court International Film Festival in the UK.
Also , Iranian media reports said Parviz Rajaee’s ‘The Hands’ was named the best short film at the 2nd edition of the Indian festival.
‘The Hands’ is about determinism and free will.
“Some are still waiting to be formed by a hand, while the rest are trying to form others,” a synopsis for the film reads.
‘The Hands’ has received many awards, including the best short film award at the winter season of the World Premiere Film Awards in the U.S. and the Certificate of Achievement for Best Iranian Film, which is given by critics, at the second edition of Eastern Venice Cine Fest in India.
Khamrubu International Short Film Festival is “a platform where you have always wanted to be with your team and with your product. At Khamrubu artists get the due respect and return of their hard work what they had been looking and imagining for their creativity”, the event’s website reads.
The 2nd edition of the festival took place on February 26-27.
