The Spectacular Achievements of the Islamic Revolution

The Ten-Day-Dawn celebrations are indeed a firm testimony to the progress and independence of Iran, and its achievements in the scientific and technological fields, thanks to the spirit of resistance imbued in the Iranian people by the Father of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (RA), and his equally astute successor, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
Among the achievements of the Islamic Republic is the revival of the identity and self-dignity of the Iranian people after over a century-and-a-half of humiliation at the hands of the despotic rulers and the big powers, such as Tsarist Russia, Britain, and the US.
During the 50-odd years of the rule of the British-installed and US-supported rootless Pahlavi potentates, Iran and the Iranian people were deprived of their rich religious and national culture and were being turned into imitators of the decadent and Godless culture of the West.
Thus, when Imam Khomeini (RA), raised his voice against the upstart regime, as one of the senior-most Islamic authorities, the nation responded to his call to generate the grassroots movement that finally cast monarchy into the dustbin of history.
The people regained their independence, liberties, national self-esteem and dignity. These values, on the basis of faith, inspired self-confidence and have continued to play the key role in the achievements of the Iranian nation in various fields, including the scientific and technological spheres.
As noted by President Hojjat al-Islam Seyyed Ibrahim Raisi in his latest speech: “When the US officially acknowledges that it has failed in its maximum pressure (policy), this is an ignominious failure for the Americans, and is indeed a victory for the Iranian nation.”
Meanwhile, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Mohammad Eslami, while visiting the family of Martyr Dr. Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, and paying glowing tributes to his spectacular achievements in the scientific field, has aptly remarked that nuclear technology is the “driving force” behind Iran’s development.
As a matter of fact, Iran’s scientific growth is greater than that of many advanced countries. For instance, during the 37-year reign of the second Pahlavi potentate, only 2026 papers were published by Iranian scientists in internationally recognized journals or read at international conferences, while over the past 42 years of the Islamic Republic more than 250,000 scientific papers have been published by Iranian scientists.
In addition to quantitative increase, in terms of quality production, Iran has made massive strides. According to figures, Iran’s scientific progress has increased by 800 percent over the past four decades, despite the country passing through critical times, including the 8-year Iraqi war, and the illegal sanctions imposed by the US.
In medicine, in nuclear energy, in nano technology, in the defence fields, in the production of missiles, in aerospace, in cyber sphere, and in heavy industries, the Islamic Republic of Iran has made giant strides to the amazement of the world.
Isn’t this a vivid example of self-sufficiency in many vital fields, and a firm slap on the face of the archenemies, the US and Israel, as well as the other detractors who for the past four decades have been crying “sour grapes”?
