Berlin Presents ‘The Epic Iran’ Exhibition
TEHRAN (IFILM) -- With the success of London’s “The Epic Iran” event, Germany is displaying ancient Iran’s art and history at a survey exhibition in Berlin.
For the first time in a Berlin institution, the cultural history of Iran--from the early civilizations through the modern era--is the focus of a major art-historical survey event titled, “Iran: Five Millennia of Art and Culture.”
Artifacts on show, many of which have never been shown before, illustrate the outstanding importance of Iran as a driving force for intercultural exchange and provide insights into the art of the courts and urban elites.
Some 360 objects are on display with James-Simon-Galerie and Pergamonmuseum hosting the event on the Museumsinsel Berlin (Museum Island)--a museum ensemble in Germany.
During the entire exhibition, taking place till March 2022, an extensive program of events is held, with talks, readings and film screenings.
The event comes following the success of “The Epic Iran” exhibition held a few months ago in the UK that explored the long tradition of Iranian art and culture over 5,000 years.
