Arvand Petrochemical Plant Plans Two Development Projects
TEHRAN -- The CEO of Arvand Petrochemical Plant Hassan Neshanzadeh Moghaddam said his company is currently busy building a new vinyl chloride (VCM) and a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) unit.
Neshanzadeh Moghaddam, outlining the company’s plans, said: “In addition to the Mahshahr Diamond Project, which feeds Arvand Petroleum Plant with ethylene, we are currently seeking a permit to build a vinyl chloride (VCM) unit as well as another one for a polyvinyl chloride unit.”
Referring to the high market capacity for PVC products, he said: “Last year, the market demand was 550,000 tons, and according to the market capacity of neighboring countries, there is a 1.5-fold pull to increase production of PVC products. With the inauguration of a 300,000-ton unit, production will go to specific grades, including medical grades.”
Arvand Petrochemical Vice President described the breaking of sanctions by capable domestic forces as another achievement of trust in domestic experts, and said: “We meet more than 80% of our needs from inside the country and were able to use the catalyst produced by Iranian experts for the first time.”
