The Message of Ramadhan

By: Kayhan Int’l Staff Writer

We have entered blessed Ramadhan, or more properly the auspicious month of fasting has made its annual advent, and for the second successive year in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic that is sweeping across the world with rising number of casualties.
Iran is no exception to this calamity and over the year has witnessed the death due to this deadly disease of 65,000 of its citizens – not because of any lack of medical facilities but mostly because of the unfortunate negligence to take the necessary precautions on the assumption that the epidemic might not be that serious to avoid assemblages, travels, shopping and the like.
Of course, since last year the Ramadhan Iftar gatherings for feasting after breaking of the day’s fast are no longer being held, as well as the pilgrimages on a grand scale to the holy shrines around the country.
At the same time, Iranian scientists have succeeded in developing antidotes for this genetically engineered virus which is not a natural occurrence but the product of satanic minds to endanger the whole humanity.
This is all because of the drifting away of mankind from spiritual values and the laws of God, due to dominance of the international order by criminal cliques that promote vices in society in the guise of ‘freedom’ as advocated by the US, Western European regimes, and the illegal Zionist entity.
Unfortunately, we Muslims have also failed to fully grasp the benefits of Divine commandments, of which the month of Ramadhan and its rules of fasting could be called the best defence against not only diseases but devilish regimes.
Indeed, the spirit of the Ramadhan ought to be properly appreciated. It is the season of spiritual strengthening that makes the individual, the societies, and even entire countries rise above mundane material concerns, to strive towards the proximity of the Loving Creator, Who will never disappoint the believers.
It is God Alone Who is the Succour for the promised triumph of the Ummah, in an era when politicians of Muslim countries lack the degree of faith to fulfill their promises, while the enemies of Islam relish repressing Muslims and worsening their plight.
Ramadhan should refresh the faith of Muslims and inspire them to take stock of their lifestyle – individual, familial, social, spiritual, cultural, political, industrial, and commercial – in order to strengthen Islamic unity and knit ranks against the open enemies of Islam, in view of the famous hadith of Prophet Muhammad (SAWA).
"The one negligent of the situation of Muslims cannot be called a Muslim.”
For the past four decades, Iran has been the lone voice in the wilderness. It has been making earnest calls for the solidarity of the Ummah, above any trivial sectarian divisions, in order to make the Muslim World free of the domination of any outside power, particularly US.
Ramadhan thus provides the finest opportunity for the believers to work for the betterment of the self and the society, and strive to defeat the hordes of Satan, including the spread of the dangerous pandemics.
