U.S. Thin Line Festival Honors Iranian Documentary
TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Iranian documentary ‘The Silhouettes’ has grabbed an award at the Thin Line Film Music Festival in the U.S.
Director of the film, Afsaneh Salari won the Emerging Filmmaker award for her latest film at the 2021 edition of the event.
The feature-length documentary tells the story of an Afghan family living in Iran. They left Afghanistan 40 years ago to come and live in Iran.
The film shows how the son of the family wants to move back to Afghanistan to live and work there, but his family does not allow him.
Thin Line Film is the longest running documentary film festival in Texas.
The event awards nearly $35,000 in cash and prizes including large awards to the Best Feature and Short Documentary, Emerging Filmmaker and Best Domestic or International Documentary.
The 14th edition of the festival was held on March 23-28, 2021.
