Minister: Iran Ready to Set Up Industrial Town in Azerbaijan

TEHRAN (Dispatches) - Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Alireza Razm-Husseini on Monday announced his ministry’s readiness to establish a joint industrial town with Azerbaijan Republic in Ardabil province.
Razm-Husseini said that launching a joint industrial park with the Republic of Azerbaijan is possible in cooperation with the two neighboring provinces at the border.
"After making the preliminaries and necessary agreements, the two sides will start investing jointly on this giant project,” he added.
The minister pointed to the immense capacities in Ardabil province, bordering with Azerbaijan Republic, and added, "It will be possible to establish joint factories with neighboring Azerbaijan in a joint industrial town according to the potentials of Ardabil province.”
In February, high-ranking Iranian and Azeri officials in a meeting in Baku explored avenues to further bolster relations between the two neighboring Muslim states.
The meeting was held between Chairman of the Iranian Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Mojtaba Zonnour and Azeri Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov on Wednesday February 17.
