Sarkozy’s Conviction Sends Shivers Down the Spine of Terrorist Trump

By: Kayhan Int’l Staff Writer

The news from Paris that former President Nicolas Sarkozy has been convicted by the French court and handed a 3-year prison sentence, does not come as a surprise to those aware of the widespread moral and material corruption prevailing at the top echelons of society in most western countries, though it surely shocked Former US president, Donald Trump, who is facing a string of lawsuits for his more sanguine crimes against humanity.
The court found Sarkozy of trying to bribe a judge and influence peddling, making him the second head of state in modern-day France to be convicted of corruption.
His predecessor, Jacques Chirac, was convicted in 2011 by the Paris court for diverting public funds and abusing public confidence.
Sarkozy, who was notorious for his unethical behaviour, is also facing multiple other legal charges, including exceeding his campaign spending limit of 22.5 million euros ($24 million) during his 2012 bid for re-election and then seeking to cover it up.
He could also face legal charges for receiving millions of dollars for his 2007 presidential campaign from Libyan dictator, Mo’ammar Qadhafi, who was deposed and killed in 2011, with NATO bombers (French included) leading the assault.
Whether or not Sarkozy receives further punishment and imprisonment, or is absolved of his crimes, is not our concern, but what is more important for us is the punishment that should be meted out to Trump the terrorist.
Recently, the US Homeland Security has filed a lawsuit charging Trump with conspiring to incite the deadly attack on January 6 at Capitol Hill where mobs ransacked the Congress headquarters,
The other lawsuits against him include efforts to influence election officials in Georgia, defame women who accused him of sexual assault, and manipulate the value of his assets for tax and loan purposes.
If there is justice in the US, these charges are enough to put the 75-year old Trump behind bars for the rest of his wretched life, to the relief of so many people.
It should be remembered that Trump was responsible for the inhuman treatment of immigrants from Latin American countries, including the death of many of their children by American security personnel.
He is also guilty of fanning flames of an almost civil war in the US because of his brutalities against black citizens that led to months of riots throughout the country.
What is, however, important for us in Iran and for conscientious persons around the globe, is the fact that Trumpm an avowed Islamophobe, is guilty of committing the unpardonable act of terrorism by killing two of the most famous figures in the campaign against terrorism – Iran’s General Qassem Soleimani and Iraq’s Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.
True, Trump’s economic terrorism may have cost the Islamic Republic an estimated loss of three hundred billion dollars for which the equally anti-Iran regime of Joe Biden will definitely not punish him, but he is naïve if he expects the long arm of justice will not reach him.
For the moment, Donald the Dotard, along with his comrades-in-crimes, such as the terrorist Mike Pompeo, maybe feeling safe, but rest assured the avowed vengeance for the innocent blood of the Iranian and Iraqi martyrs is around the corner, and will most surely strike them.
