The Ever-Expanding Influence of the Islamic Revolution

By: Kayhan Int’l Staff Writer

The Islamic Republic of Iran is undoubtedly the role model for independent governments and popular liberation movements of the Muslim world, thanks to its spectacular success of the past four decades in all fields that have transformed it into the paramount power of the region, despite the intensity of US sanctions.
These are not the remarks of any Iranian official proud of the achievements of his homeland in the face of Washington’s economic terrorism, but part of a speech delivered last Tuesday in Beirut by the Chief of Lebanon’s legendry anti-terrorist movement to a large gathering commemorating the martyrdom of such immortals as Seyyed Abbas Musavi and Emad Mughniyah whose innocent blood triumphed over the weapons of the illegal Zionist entity.
Yes, Hojjat al-Islam Seyyed Hassan Nasrollah, even as his enemies grudgingly admit, never exaggerates anything and says with firm conviction what he is fully aware of in his role as Secretary-General of Hezbollah (Arabic for Party of God), a Qur’anic term which has inspired the selfless to strive for humanitarian causes over the past millennium-and-a-half, and was internationally popularized by the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran under Imam Khomeini (RA).
When he warns Tel Aviv to stop playing with fire, he means it will be badly burnt in view of the destructive conventional arsenal of the Resistance Front which is confident of overcoming even the enemy’s nuclear weapons.
Those in doubt are advised to cast a look around the region and the permanent changes since 1979 when the Iranian people became masters of their own destiny by casting into the dustbin of history the foreign-appointed Pahlavis, and in the process kicking out the American hegemons from the soil of Iran, thereby inspiring nations in the neighbourhood to assert their independence.
Today, thanks to the formation of the Hezbollah in Lebanon in 1982, the Lebanese people, whether Shi’a, Sunni, Christian or Druze, have knit ranks to become more than a match for the military might of the Zionists who are trying to avert the inevitable end of their racist/terrorist entity – a far cry from the dream of a Greater Israel stretching from the River Nile in Egypt to the River Euphrates in Iraq.
The Islamic Revolution breathed new life into the Palestinian people, who today, especially from tiny Gaza, have the Islamic resolve and the military means to retaliate against the state terrorism of Israel, no matter what treasonous steps the rootless regimes of the Arab world take on US orders to forge ties with the Zionists in the vain hope of saving themselves from eventual extinction.
Syria and its Sunni Muslim majority (both the people and the armed forces) have succeeded in defeating the most macabrely murderous terrorists the US, Western European regimes, Israel, the Saudis, and other Arab reactionaries had armed and funded in a bid to overthrow the legitimate government in Damascus or dismember the country.
Iraq, whose people used to be under the jackboots of the repressive Ba’thist minority, which backed by the US, Europe, the Soviet Union, and rootless Arab regimes, imposed the devastating 8-year war on Iran in a bid to stop the influence of the Islamic Revolution, is today part of the growing Resistance Front, thanks to the Popular Mobilization Units intent upon ending the US occupation of their country.
The people of Yemen have discovered their identity, because of the Islamic Revolution, and no matter what lethal western armaments the Saudis and the Emiratis use against them, they have proved resilient in safeguarding their independence to the extent that the fight has been taken to the enemy camp.
If Egyptians, who briefly won independence before losing it because of being deceived by the Saudis, are now more than determined to take a cue from Iran to eventually defeat the dictators, Bahrainis have stepped up their liberation struggle in the face of the brutalities of the Aal-e Khalifa minority regime.
Even mainland Arabia is moving towards freedom from the yoke of the minority Wahhabi cult, which will soon be part of history, along with the ever-retreating Americans, who can no longer feel safe in Afghanistan, or for that matter in Pakistan, Turkey, Jordan, or the Caucasus Republic of Azerbaijan.
The day will definitely dawn when there won’t be any US military personnel or more properly CENTCOM terrorists anywhere in the Muslim World, including India which has the largest number of Muslims.
