We have often said that ties between the people of Iran and Iraq are so closely intertwined that no enemy has been able to drive a wedge between them, as could be evident by the deep frustration in the US, which neither succeeded in creating bad blood by ordering Saddam of the Ba’th minority regime to impose the 8-year war in the 1980s nor has its current illegal military presence brought the hatred it desires in league with the Saudis and the Zionists.
As a matter of fact, the Iraqi people very well know that their archenemies are the US, the Wahhabi cultish regime in Riyadh, and illegal Israel – all three of which had ganged together behind the macabrely murderous takfiri terrorists, whose bid to turn Iraq into Takfiristan miserably failed thanks to the timely support from the friendly and fraternal Iranian people.
The recent visit to Baghdad of Iran’s Judiciary Chief, Hojjat al-Islam Seyyed Ibrahim Raeisi, who was warmly welcomed (if not, literally mobbed) by all strata of the Iraqi people, ranging from officials and tribal chiefs, to the ulema and the common masses, once again proved that no power can break the bond between the two brotherly neighbours who throughout the past centuries have shared the same religion, culture, and other values.
He held important talks with his Iraqi counterpart, as well as with the president and prime minister of the host country, on cooperation in a wide variety of sectors, including the urgent expulsion of the US terrorist forces and taking of final steps for avenging the innocent blood of the two prominent martyrs – Iran’s General Qassem Soleimani and Iraq’s Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.
The two icons of the struggle against terrorism were cowardly targeted at Baghdad International Airport on January 3 last year by the terrorist Donald Trump and his criminal clique in Washington.
Both the Iranian and the Iraqi people have vowed vengeance against the US, and the judiciaries of the two countries have finalized a list of around 50 American culprits involved in the unmanly assassination, who should definitely be punished – irrespective of whether or not they hold any official post.
Hopefully, we will very soon see justice being carried out in a joint measure by the Iranians and the Iraqi, who feel the need to more closely coordinate efforts in all fields to the extent that no barriers – even the political border – remain as impediment for them in their common quest to build national economies and visit either country for pilgrimage to the holy shrines of the Imams of the Prophet’s Ahl al-Bayt.
In view of these undeniable facts, Hojjat al-Islam Raeisi who celebrated in Baghdad with throngs of the brotherly Iraqi people the 42nd anniversary of the historic victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, apprised his hosts of the warm feelings towards them of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, addressing the Iraqi youth, has given them tidings of the "brilliant future” awaiting them in view of their Islamic spirit and strong resolve.
Part of his message reads: "To the dear Iraqi youth; I like you, pray for you and beseech God Almighty to grant you victory and success in achieving worldly and otherworldly happiness and stability on the straight path.”
Of course, the common enemies of the two countries will certainly try to throw obstacles in the way of the friendly and fraternal Iranian and Iraqi people, but they will miserably fail.
As the faithful on either side of the border know very well, Iraq has a date with destiny. In the near future the city of Kufa will be the seat of the global government of Prophet Muhammad’s (SAWA) 12th and Last Infallible Heir, Imam Mahdi (AS), who will reappear at the sacred Ka’ba in holy Mecca to liberate Hijaz and then enter the Land of the River Tigris and the Euphrates to the warm welcome of the Iraqi, Iranian and other people to cleanse the whole world of all oppression and corruption.
