Palestine: Zionist Regime Confiscates Land for Settlement

RAMALLAH (Dispatches) – The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Tuesday that the Zionist regime has recently confiscated lands for settlement construction in the occupied West Bank.
The lands, located in the West Bank districts of Qalqilya and Salfit, were confiscated for expanding settlements and constructing new illegal units, the ministry said in a statement.
The statement condemned the recent intensive expansion campaign by the occupying regime, which "includes bulldozing lands, uprooting trees, and demolishing homes and constructions.”
The statement said the settlement plans would undermine the opportunity for achieving a solution to the conflict.
The Zionist regime keeps demolishing Palestinian buildings as its troops storm various areas in the occupied West Bank to deliver demolition notices, in order to construct illegal units on the Palestinian occupied lands.
In Khirbet al-Maitah area, an ultimatum was issued on Monday where six homes and some other structures under construction were the target, the Palestinian Information Center reported.
Meanwhile, Jordan on Monday condemned the occupying regime’s intervention in the jurisdictions of the Jordan-run Department of the al-Quds Awqaf and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs, and hindering the restoration work of the Qubbat Al-Sakhrah (Dome of the Rock) Mosque.
Jordan’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Deifallah Fayez rejected the occupying regime’s actions against the department, stressing that the department is the "sole authority responsible for the supervision and maintenance of Al-Haram Al-Sharif,” according to a ministry statement.
The Jordanian official called on the regime to "abide by its commitments under the international law, halt the irresponsible behavior and respect the historical and legal status quo and the authority of the department.”
He said that the ministry earlier in the day sent an official note of protest through diplomatic channels to the occupying regime in which it demanded that the regime refrain from such violations and provocations, and respect the mandate of the Jordan-run department.
