Gaza Residential Areas Targeted in New Strikes

GAZA STRIP (Dispatches) – The Zionist regime’s tanks struck a number of sites in the Gaza Strip, including a residential home, in the second night of attacks on the coastal enclave on Tuesday.
Local Palestinian sources said the artillery barrage left material damage to a house located in the Maghazi refugee camp on Tuesday night.
Abu Mazen Abdel-Jawad’s family of five were sleeping when tanks targeted a room built on the roof of their three-storey home.
A relative of the family, Tayseer Abdel-Jawad, told Palestinian news agency Maan the roof of the house caved in, but the family survived unscathed.
"The bombing caused great damage inside the house,” he said. "The family miraculously escaped certain death.”
The Zionist regime’s tanks also targeted observation points and locations east of Beit Hanoun, Beit Lahia, and Deir Al-Balah.
The occupying regime’s army claimed that the tanks fired on the Hamas resistance movement’s positions after a rocket was fired from the Palestinian enclave towards the occupied territories.
"Late in the evening, a rocket was launched from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory,” the army said in a statement on WhatsApp. "In response, Israeli tanks struck Hamas positions” in the south of the Gaza Strip.
On Monday, the regime’s warplanes bombed Hamas sites in southern Gaza following the alleged firing of two rockets from the coastal sliver toward Ashdod in the occupied lands.
The Gaza-based resistance movements have warned the Zionist regime against trying a new bout of adventurism against the besieged enclave, saying any such aggression will be met with a firm response.
Since 2008, the regime has waged three wars against Gaza, killing and injuring thousands of Palestinians.
The occupying regime often launches strikes against positions in the blockaded enclave, accusing the resistance groups there of launching rockets.
Gaza has been under a crippling siege since June 2007. The blockade has caused a decline in living standards as well as unprecedented levels of unemployment and unrelenting poverty in the Gaza Strip.
