Iran’s ‘The Castle’ Sweeps Awards at Brazilian Festival

TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Iranian short flick ‘The Castle’ has won three awards at the December 2020 edition of the Gralha International Monthly Film Awards (GIMFA) in Brazil.
The short flick won the awards for Best Woman Director of Short Film, Best Short Film and Best Trailer at the Brazilian festival.
Written and directed by Saba Qasemi, a brief synopsis of ‘The Castle’ reads, "Some castles are made of bricks. Some are made out of books, but all castles stand by memories”.
Sajjad Tabesh, Sima Sheybani, Mahdokht Molaee, Emad Emami, Armin Sayyad, and Ali Nasir are among the cast members of the short film.
The short flick has previously gone on screen at several film festivals, including the 16th Angel Film Awards-Monaco International Film Festival and the 1st annual Arizona International Short Film Festival, both in the U.S.
The monthly GIMFA aims to promote the best films in cinema of the world. The festival is an opportunity for independent films to go on screen.
"All monthly selections will receive a laurel of selected. And the winners will receive a winner’s laurel and a high-quality certificate,” the festival’s website writes.
