Tehran Prosecutor Reveals:

UK Security Firm Complicit in Assassination

TEHRAN (Dispatches) – UK-based security company G4S collaborated with U.S. forces in assassinating General Qassem Soleimani by providing intelligence about the top anti-terror commander’s movements, Tehran Prosecutor Ali Alqasi-Mehr said Wednesday.
"One of the important and significant issues in this case is the role of British company G4S in the assassination of the commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), which was responsible for flight security at Baghdad airport, and the agents of the company provided information to terrorists about General Soleimani and his companions upon their arrival,” he said.
The official made the remarks during a legal and judicial follow-up session on the assassination of General Soleimani.
He said Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Qatar, Jordan and Kuwait have been served with warrants by Iran to identify and arrest culprits in the assassination.
A committee has also been set up to track down the whereabouts of suspected American terrorists outside the United States in order to arrest and extradite them, he added.
According to the prosecutor, the U.S. air base in Germany was also involved in the exchange of information among American drones used to assassinate General Soleimani.
Judiciary Chief Ebrahim Raeisi said Tuesday those behind the terrorist act will be justly punished without any discrimination.
"The serving of justice without any discrimination and exception is the Islamic Republic of Iran’s definite policy regarding the punishment of those who gave the orders, as well as their accomplices and the assassins in the terrorist move in Baghdad last year,” Raeisi told president of Iraq’s Supreme Judicial Council Faiq Zidan over the phone.
Raeisi hailed efforts by Iraq’s judicial bodies to constantly follow up the case. "We consider the United States as a clear example of state terrorism,” the Iranian judiciary chief said.
He further said Iran and Iraq have "intertwined and inseparable” national security interests and are firmly determined to jointly fight those who are trying to create tension and undermine security.
The U.S., he said, is the common enemy of the Iranian and Iraqi nations, and that cooperation between the two neighboring countries should lead to the prosecution of all those who have played a role in this big terrorist crime.
Zidan, for his part, emphasized the serving of justice without discrimination in the assassination case.
Head of the Iranian Judiciary’s High Council for Human Rights Ali Baqeri-Kani said on Monday that 48 culprits had been identified in connection with the assassination and all necessary measures have been taken to prosecute them.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry said Wednesday the blood of General Soleimani "united” the Middle East region in "opposing U.S. arrogance”.
"Last year, across the region, from Iran and Iraq to India and Pakistan, people showed disgust for murderers of Gen Soleimani. His blood united our region in opposing U.S. arrogance and presence. A real response to recklessness. The anger and unity still stand,” it said.
