Egypt’s Sisi Discusses Palestine With Jordan, Palestine FMs

CAIRO (Dispatches) – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has discussed the Zionist-Palestinian conflict with foreign ministers of Jordan and Palestine.
In a meeting with Palestinian and Jordanian foreign ministers, Riyad al-Maliki and Ayman Safadi, in Cairo on Saturday, Sisi claimed the Palestinian cause was as one of the constants of his country’s foreign policy.
He discussed with the top diplomats the latest developments regarding the efforts aimed at revitalizing the so-called peace process and negotiations on the Palestinian cause, according to a statement released by the Egyptian Presidency.
He also emphasized the continuation of attempts towards restoring the Palestinians’ legitimate rights and establishing their independent state based on international legitimacy references.
Those attempts, he added, should also take into account the recent changes that took place on the regional and international arenas.
This comes in parallel with efforts to achieve national Palestinian reconciliation, in order to promote the path of achieving peace, he said.
They also referred to the Egyptian efforts meant to improve the humanitarian, living and economic conditions in the Israeli-blockaded Gaza Strip.
Also on Saturday, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met with his Palestinian and Jordanian counterparts.
The top diplomats further stressed a negotiated solution in order to reach a settlement based on the UN solution, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East al-Quds as its capital.
