Iranian Film Competes at Spanish Human Rights Festival

TEHRAN (IFILM)  --  Iranian short film ‘Gabriel’ is scheduled to screen at the Human Rights Film Festival of Barcelona (FCDHBCN) in Spain.
Directed by Yousef Kargar, the short will join competition at the 17th edition of the Spanish film event.
The 18-minute short, which is in Turkish language, is the story of a father who has to choose under difficult conditions between love, faith and conscience.
‘Gabriel’ has had various shooting locations but it has mainly been filmed by Lake Urmia located between the provinces of East and West Azerbaijan.
The film has already been showcased at a number of international film events, including the Berkeley Video & Film Festival in the U.S. , the Cheongju Int’l Short filmfest in S. Korea and the Flickers’ Rhode Island Int’l filmfest in the U.S.
The FCDHBCN aims to promote and open up spaces for screening of cinematographic works dealing with the defense of human rights. At the same time it means to increase public awareness and boost the respect for the human rights.
This year’s edition of the event will be held on November 15-24.
