TEHRAN (Dispatches) - Advisor to Iran’s energy minister for international affairs Mohammad Ali Farahnakian and Energy Ministry and Qatar’s Water and Power Company have stressed the need to strengthen mutual cooperation.
Farahnakian and head of the Center for International Affairs and Coordination of Water and Electricity Diplomacy of the Energy Ministry, held talks with Issa Al-Kuwari, CEO of Qatar Water and Power Company.
During the meeting, the two sides stressed the need to strengthen bilateral relations and described the previous talks and negotiations between the water and electricity sectors of Iran and Qatar as valuable.
They also agreed to pursue specialized discussions between the Qatari company and the relevant units of Iran’s Ministry of Energy, so that both countries could achieve good results in the direction of close cooperation.
Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian arrived in Doha on Monday morning to submit Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s written letter to Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.
An d also, Iranian Ambassador to Oman Ali Najafi Khoshroodi in a meeting with the Omani Energy Minister Mohammed bin Hamad al-Rumhi underlined the need for enhancement of economic relations between Tehran and Muscat.
He said that given the existing capacities, Iran and Oman can boost economic cooperation in various arenas.
Al-Rumhi, for his part, referred to historic bonds and brotherhood between Iran and Oman, underscoring the need for deepening mutual relations.
The two officials also called for further cooperation in the field of energy.
last month, Khoshroodi said that his country is keen to reinforce relations with the Persian Gulf littoral state in various fields.
"Iran and Oman enjoy good political and economic relations,” Khoshroodi made the remarks in a meeting with Oman’s Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth Dhi Yazan bin Haitham on Sunday October 11, adding that grounds are set for the development of cultural and sports cooperation.
