Mossad Chief: Zionist, Saudi Regimes Maintain Unofficial Relations

WEST BANK (Dispatches) – The head of the Zionist regime’s spy agency Mossad, Yossi Cohen, has said that the occupying regime and Saudi Arabia maintain relations, however they remain outside the official diplomatic framework, Maariv newspaper reported.
The paper quoted Cohen as saying that the normalization of relations with Arab countries gives the Zionist regime a "strategic depth” to confront its arch-foe Iran.
He also said that normalization and bilateral relations with the Arab regimes gives the Zionist regime an opportunity on the economic and security levels, in addition to launching cooperation activities in all fields.
The United Arab Emirates and Bahrain became the third and fourth Arab states to agree to normalize ties with the Zionist regime, following Egypt’s deal with the occupying regime in 1979 and a 1994 pact with Jordan.
Remarking on Saudi Arabia’s condition that the Zionist regime resolves its conflict with the Palestinians as a prelude to sign a normalization deal with Riyadh, Cohen said:
"I wish that the countries that have actual peace relations with us, even if they are outside the official diplomatic framework, concludes this deal (normalization), and I think that there is no justification for this condition.”
He also said the Zionist regime would not sign an agreement with the Palestinians to stop building illegal settlements on occupied Palestinian territories as a prelude to reach deals with other Arab countries.
The UAE and Bahrain had justified their deals with the Zionist regime as a means to stop the annexation plans in the West Bank and bring peace to the region. Nevertheless, the occupying reime is still going ahead with its expansion plans.
